As a U.S. Army Veteran, former real estate professional, and longtime public servant, I understand the importance of leadership, hard work, and treating people fairly.
I grew up in a lower-income family, and I have never forgotten where I came from or how important it is to protect the opportunity to own a home.
I’m not interested in taxing people out of their homes. I’ve gone to Olympia to fight for property tax reform and relief—including helping raise the senior exemption income limit from $48,000 to $83,000 for married couples.
After nearly 19 years in the Assessor’s Office, I know the system—and I believe taxpayers deserve someone who will explain it, listen to their concerns, and look for solutions.
I believe in an Assessor who is accessible, fair, and willing to think outside the box.

Wes Cornelius has spent nearly four decades working in real estate, appraisal, and property tax administration—including nearly 20 years inside the Chelan County Assessor's Office.
He has served as a Real Property Appraiser, Analyst, Chief Appraiser, Chief Deputy Assessor, and Assessor. That experience gives Wes a comprehensive understanding of the Assessor's Office and the responsibilities that come with leading it.
